Celebrating Lent and Easter with beautiful sawdust carpets

160327SPalfom01A number of Sister Parish faith communities marked Lent and Easter this year by making colorful sawdust carpets and participating in processions.  The tradition is widely practiced in Guatemala, as well as other Latin American countries and Spain.

We’ve posted pictures from this year’s sawdust carpets below.
